The Waipahu Project (working title)
by Kirstyn Trombetta
Directed by Ashley DeMoville
PlayBuilders has commissioned Kirstyn Trombetta to write a community collaborative, grassroots play about Waipahu which will be produced on The Leeward Theatre Main Stage April 23, 24, 25 of this year. We have finished the process of conducting story circles and individual oral histories with Waipahu residents and Kirstyn Trombetta has already written the second draft on the play!
The Waipahu Project Play Reading and Pot Luck Dinner.
February 4th, 5PM in the Leeward Lab Theatre
Give feedback on the stories you hear and help think of a new title for the play!
We will provide paper plates, cups, utensils, napkins, water, fruit punch and desert. Please bring a dish you think best represents Waipahu or your ohana.
The play will be read by experienced actors and it is important you attend so you may share your thoughts. The Waipahu Project is about your community, your history, your culture, your people and you have been helping to write it!
