Emeritus Board
The Emeritus Board consists of individuals nominated by the Board Building and Governance Committee of the Board of Directors and appointed by a majority vote of the directors then in office. Emeritus Board members shall serve at the pleasure of the Board of Directors. The purpose of the Emeritus Board shall be to provide counsel and advice to the Board of Directors with respect to any and all matters, including without limitation, defining and achieving goals of the organization and fostering relationships with individuals, organization, and constituencies that may have goals, interests, or objectives in common with those of the organization. As an advisory body, the Emeritus Board shall have only such authority as the Board of Directors may determine from time to time. The Board of Directors retains the authority to amend, reject, or revoke any action taken by the Emeritus Board members. The Emeritus Board will meet as needed. Minutes of the meetings of the Emeritus Board shall be kept by an Emeritus Board member and submitted to the secretary. Members of the Emeritus Board have no right to notice of Board of Directors meetings, attendance thereat, or voting rights; however, the Emeritus Board shall have the right and be encouraged to have a representative attend as a guest all regular meetings at the pleasure of the board.

Ronald Gilliam
Interim Artistic Director, 2013- 2015 Director, Yes I Am: Stories from Honolulu's LGBT Community Co-Director, Yes I am: Leeward Edition Ronald Gilliam was the Interim Artistic Director and ensemble member of PlayBuilders between 2013-2015. During his tenure, he directed "Yes I Am, Stories from Honolulu's LGBT Community" and co-directed "Yes I Am: Leeward Edition" with Terri Madden. He was instrumental in developing our 5 year plan and the PlayBuilders overall marketing image. He holds an MA in Performance Studies from New York University and is currently working on his Ph.D. at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. Prior to joining PlayBuilders, Ronald was an active stage director and arts administrator in Indianapolis and New York City. He has directed over 10 full-length productions and numerous devised original works based on ensemble/applied theatre methodologies. His most recent Honolulu work prior to his tenure at PlayBuilders was Borderline, an original production originally conceived and developed by NoExit Performance (Indianapolis), a theatre company Ronald co-founded in 2004. He also directed the Hawai‘i premiere of Gao Xinjiang’s Nocturnal Wanderer to sold-out houses at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa’s Earl Ernst Lab Theatre.
